The Easiest Eco Switcharoo!

My Delicious Epiphany.  Better Late Then Never!

I’ll freely admit that I’m slow to catch on to things sometimes but this is just silly.  I’m not quite sure why it took me 27 years to figure out that a bar of soap is so much more environmentally friendly than a big plastic bottle full of soap.   Looking at the image now it’s almost absurd to me that big thick plastic bottles are even made for body wash soaps.

Let’s be honest some eco friendly life changes can be a pain in the ass, this is by far the easiest environmentally friendly switch I’ve ever made.  So, if you are looking to make one little change at a time, make the bar soap change!  You’ll be reminded every morning in the shower what a smart eco-conscious person you are and how you are totally doing your part to save the world :)

How did this epiphany come about?

Well it took me working on an Apple Orchard in  Minnesota to discover a great line of handmade bar soaps.  The Orchard has a wonderful retail barn with all local and handmade products.  The all natural bodylish line was created and is hand made by Nora Schaper, the farmers wife.  My favorite soaps are the Cowgirl Bar and Dude Soap, they both smell and feel divine.

For you lather junkies who are skeptical about using your shower puff with a bar of soap instead of foamy liquid soap, have no fear!  Just wet your bar of soap and rub on the shower puff, instant bubbly lather.  Also a time saver no opening, turning up side down, shaking or squeezing a bottle.
